The Small Festival

The Small Festival is a weekend of creativity, culture and participation. Everyone is encouraged to get involved. The possibilities for contributing are endless, ranging from appearing on stage, to helping out behind the scenes. A great atmosphere is generated when everyone participates and those that get stuck in have the best time.

Try something new

Since all the events are offered by participants to the festival, it's a chance for people to bring existing skills, or try out something new and express hidden talents in a friendly and non-critical environment. We create the schedule for the events as your ideas come in and look forward to all your suggestions.

A day in the life

Generally the days are filled with a wide variety of children's and adults' workshops, sports events, discussions and 'happenings'. In the evenings we gather in the big marquee for performances on the stage, followed by partying in the main house.

A wide range of activities

In past years, events have included theatrical performances, political talks, cookery workshops, children's creative activities, sporting events, country walks, dance groups, singing and playing live music, therapies, blacksmithing, as well as important jobs like recycling the festival rubbish, clearing and washing up.
